Decarbontek, a startup based in the Boston, Massachusetts area, is pioneering carbon capture and removal technologies.  We have developed the best-in-class MOF-based solid adsorbent, structured adsorbent contactors, and a revolutionary rapid swing adsorption process. Our vertically integrated platform technologies have the potential to disrupt the carbon capture and removal industry, reduce CO2 removal cost, mitigate the impact of climate change, and advance sustainability. To accelerate commercialization, we are looking for a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our team.

This position will help us scale up our manufacturing plants and contribute to our advanced test system design and construction.

Responsibilities

• Plan, conceptualize, and construct improved solid adsorbent manufacturing equipment
• Design systems and components for our advanced carbon capture and removal system
• Manage system and component vendors and suppliers
• Evaluate the final product’s overall performance, reliability and safety

Requirements

• M.S. or B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering
• 5+ years of industrial experience
• High level of proficiency with CAD software
• Demonstrated experience with prototype assembly
• Passionate about new technologies and CO2 removal
• Enjoy working in a startup environment that is nimble and fast moving
• Excellent problem solving and data presentation skills, and ability to work within collaborative, cross functional teams
• Must be able to legally work in the US without sponsorship
• At least two references
• Proficiency with Python is a plus
